Book excerpt: The objective of the present study is to explore the Fatherland Site Collection, which had been in the possession of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History since Moreau B. Chambers excavated the site in 1930. Most of the collection had been on public display in Jackson, Mississippi, and some specimens had been illustrated or described in cursory fashion, but the impressive cultural content was not known in any detail to archaeologists.
