Book excerpt: Description: This series consists of personal correspondence, the bulk of which was from John Weinstock, to his parents in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Weinstock begins writing after he has been accepted by the United States Army Air Force and is sent to Nashville Army Air Center in Tennessee. In November 1943, Weinstock graduated from Navigation School at Selma Field, Louisiana with in Flight 48, Class 43-15. Other locations Weinstock was stationed at include: Maxwell Field, Alabama; 64th Army Air Forces Training Detachment, Camden, South Carolina; Buckingham Army Air Field, Florida; Flexible Gunnery School, Fort Myers, Florida; Pocatello Army Air Base, Ohio; Muroc Air Base, California; and Hawaii. Also included is a photograph of Weinstock in his uniform and letters from Miss Charlotte Paris, Los Angeles, California, to Weinstockâ€TMs parents.;Personal correspondence from the service of Lieutenant John Weinstock, who served as a navigator in the 98th Bombardment Squadron, 98th Bombardment Group in the Pacific Theater of Operations.
