Book excerpt: Each of the twenty chapters in Developing Writing is introduced by a topical reading selection incorporating the lesson's model structures, mechanics, and grammar points. Following each reading are activities designed for students to study composition, vocabulary, and spelling. The goal of this book is to take the student from the mechanics of basic sentence writing to the ability to construct a simple paragraph.
