Book excerpt: The Faroes have a deeply rooted knitting culture and are perhaps at the top of the world when it comes to the number of knitting clubs. It is the authors desire with this book to awaken an interest in Faroese knitting motifs, to increase appreciation of wool as a natural material, and to spread our cultural heritage. Most of all, to keep the Nordic knitting patterns alive to honor all the work of previous generations.
