Book excerpt: The book is dedicated to my beloved Bengali Hindu mother and Bengali Muslim mother who sacrificed their lives to build the futures of their children during the Hindu-Muslim turmoil that was happening during the partition of the country under the leadership of Gandhi. They were facing the onslaught of famine and the constant fear of losing their lives under the prevailing situation of rioting in the country in the event of gaining independence of India through the falsehood of non-violence.
