Book excerpt: A Phase II Stage 2 evaluation was conducted at Edwards AFB CA under the Installation Restoration Program (IRP). Nine sites were investigated during this study to further define the magnitude and extent of contamination, This study involved the installation of lysimeters, groundwater monitoring wells and soil borings; samples of groundwater is not contaminated at Sites 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D1 and 1D2. Limited soil contamination exists at Sites 1C and 1D1. Site 8 has soil contamination but no significant groundwater contamination. Extent of contamination at Site 5 is unclear, and further monitoring is recommended. The lysimeters at Sites 2 and 3 should also be monitored on a regular basis.
