Book excerpt: The aim of the study was to describe how soil, water and perennial pasture plants interact on a duplex soil, charcteristic of much of the extensively grazed hill country of lower north east Victoria and to show how these relationships impact on soil mangement, both in terms of agriculture and the catchment environment.
