Book excerpt: Pearson conducted a standard setting for the End of Course Examination Program (EOCEP) Biology test in Columbia, SC, July 27-28, 2009. Two achievement level cut scores (Met and Exemplary) were recommended by the standard setting panel through three rounds of the Item Mapping method. Panelists worked through a 90-item ordered item booklet, which represented 150% of an actual test form. Panelists placed recommendations for the Met and Exemplary achievement level cut scores based on the progression of item difficulty.
