Book Synopsis The Five Power Defence Arrangements and AMDA by : Chin Kin Wah

Book excerpt: The postwar years in Southeast Asia have witnessed the spawning of a variety of defence agreements and frameworks, with perhaps the loosest of them being the Five Power Defence Arrangements involving Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore. This paper attempts to unravel the nature of this arrangement and trace its evolution from the Anglo-Malaysian Defence Agreement (AMDA).
