Book Synopsis The Movement Patterns and Foraging Ecology of Dall Sheep (Ovis Dalli Dalli) in the Noatak National Preserve, Alaska by : Lee Anne Ayres
Book excerpt: Radio-collars were fitted on eighteen Dall sheep at three study sites in the western Noatak National Preserve in Alaska in order to study movement patterns and foraging ecology. Movements were monitored from June 1983 through November 1985. Methods used to investigate foraging ecology included observations of foraging sheep, analysis of fecal composition, analysis of nitrogen content of feces, and plant sampling in forage areas. The purpose of the study was to provide the National Park Service and interested scientists with baseline data on Dall sheep in the preserve.
