Book excerpt: This bulletin gives the results of the investigations conducted in 1923 at the Northern Great Plains Field Station near Mandan, North Dakota in the semiarid Great Plains area. The work at this station includes experimental field testsin the growth of trees, shrubs, fruits, vegetables and field crops; cooperative shelter-belt investigations with farmers on the northern Great Plains; and a series of pasture experiments to study the management of native and cultivated grassland for grazing beef cattle.
