Book excerpt: This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th Asian Computing Science Conference, ASIAN 2002, held in Hanoi, Vietnam in December 2002. The 17 revised full papers presented together with two invited contributions were carefully reviewed and selected from 30 submissions.
