Over most of this period the station's territory included Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, northern Georgia, eastern Kentucky, and eastern Tennessee. On July 1, 1946 the station name was changed to Southeastern Forest Experiment Station, and the station's territory was designated as Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
