Book excerpt: The goal of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is to improve the health and nutrition of children and adults in care while promoting the development of good eating habits. This manual has been designed to provide additional information on creditable and non-creditable foods in child care centers, outside school hours centers, family child care homes, and adult day care centers. Creditable foods are those foods that may be counted toward meeting the requirements for a reimbursable meal.
