Next, let him construct compound sentences, till the connection or dependence of clauses is rightly understood, with their limiting or modifying power. Thus, he will become acquainted with the fact, unencumbered by technical terms. He will learn the dependences of words and clauses and his mind will be strongly exercised on these great and prominent features of thought, without being bewildered by the intricacies of the minor distinctions which are involved in these relations.
