Book excerpt: Valentine H. Smith was born 22 July 1838 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His parents were Frederick Kline Smith (1801-1873) and Mary Hiltebeitel (1808-1867). He married Elizabeth Walter (1834-1913) 2 January 1862 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They had seven children. Valentine died in 1890. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Includes Bennett, Reiter, Walter and related families.
