Book Synopsis Immigration and Colonization by Aquatic Insects of an Artificial Wetland to Control Acid Mine Drainage by : John Robert Omer

Book excerpt: Monitor an artificial wetland, built for the treatment of acid mine drainage, for the immigration of and exploitation by aquatic macroinvertebrates, and compare these activities with the water quality at the time of colonization. Analyze for a correlation between the immigrating macroinvertebrates and the water quality of the area which they inhabit, once the wetland was established and the water quality gradient became fairly stable. Compare these findings to water quality and aquatic macroinvertebrate populations of local streams which were not impacted by acid mine drainage.
