Book excerpt: What do I write in these few paragraphs to make you decide to change your life? What can I say to make you believe that I went through some of the same things you've gone through, and it only gets worse? What will it take for you to want to make your life better, happier, safer and less chaotic; not to worry if you and your children are going to be safe from day to day; to know that your life can be normal and that it isn't normal for someone to abuse you physically, mentally or emotionally. It took me a good part of my life to finally figure out what normal is. For about an hour and a half and the price of this book, you can be on your way to some semblance of order in your life. You will have an outline of what needs to be done to make your life better than tolerable. Because, I'm here to tell you, you don't want to get to intolerable. If you're in an abusive relationship and you've been in one for a short time or a very, very long time, it's still tolerable. If you haven't gotten out yet, it's still tolerable. If you're still alive, it's tolerable. You don't have to live this way. There is a way out. As you'll read in these pages, I was in two abusive relationships. Both different, both nasty, both partially my fault. The worst thing that happened to me probably isn't as bad as some of the things you've experienced, which is all the more reason to read this book.
