Book excerpt: The aim of this book is to provide a practical approach to a wide variety of water related topics. These explore the problems that arid and semi-arid countries face in relation to water resources and water management, using recent case studies as a result of recent and past experience to explore the possible solutions, as well to provide a framework/guideline to assist the practitioner in resolving these problems. The book contains case studies and practical guidelines developed from many years of project management, private sector participation and Ministerial level government appointment in both Water and Irrigated Agriculture. Many solutions were developed for specific problems/tasks, in particular, lessons learned from Management Contracts of water utilities.
