Book excerpt: This paper presents results from the second year of a project aimed at improving understanding of the crustal & lithospheric architecture & evolution of the Slave Province and their relationship to the formation, preservation, & distribution of diamonds. The paper describes the area mapped in 2001, revises structural nomenclature established in 2000, and presents preliminary uranium-lead ages from samples collected in 2000. It discusses the geology of the supracrustal & granitoid rocks of the Walmsley Lake area, the four phases of folding & petrological fabric development that are interpreted for the area, the Proterozoic & other mafic dikes found in the area, and the area's economic potential.
