Rupert Cutler, Assistant Secretary of Agriculture, dealt with the session's theme, the relationship of fire to land management. Subsequent papers discussed fire information required by land managers, how fire-related activities can be adapted to land management, using simulation as a planning tool, and legislation affecting use of fire in forestry practices.
