Book excerpt: Throughout the last century, two interwoven trends have been unfolding in the world economy: the growing internationalization of the production process and the predominance of manufactured goods in international trade. The purpose of this paper is to present the manufacturing trade of Mexico and Brazil in the context of the literature of international production sharing and industrial globalization.
