Book excerpt: In March 2018, the European Commission presented its 'Digital Taxation Package', which included not only a longterm solution in the form of a 'significant digital presence', but also a short-term proposal for a 'digital services tax'. This article provides an overview of the current status of the proposals and the future of digital taxation in the EU.
