Book excerpt: Kata is the Boss! The Heian-Kata-Bunkai learning series offers Karateka the opportunity to systematically deal with possibilities and alternatives in order to be able to defend themselves in certain situations. With this book I want to contribute to a better understanding of the WHY within the traditional Heian-Kata-Forms. The reader, from beginner to blackbelt, will be training and performing this Kata with a new and defense-realistic awareness.
