Book excerpt: Thomas J. Erickson is a poet and attorney in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he sometimes works on his poems while sitting in court waiting for his cases to be called. A Pushcart Prize nominee, he has published two chapbooks and one collection called The Biology of Consciousness (Pebblebrook Press). His poems have been published in numerous journals and anthologies. He is a proud member of the Hartford Avenue Poets.
