Book excerpt: This report gives an account of the progress and present status of science in India. Its scope is in the main limited to developments of Indian science in plasma physics and geo-astrophysics. It does not attempt to describe all universities and research institutions in India. It does, however, give a fairly broad cross-section of Indian scientific research in the aforementioned fields. (Author).
